An understated sports time-keeper, the Ball Engineer III Endurance 1917 TMT is a limited edition watch with an elegant, yet masculine personality. While the model is perfectly suitable for daily wear it has been endowed with an abundance of exciting technical innovations which ensure that the piece remains accurate, even under the most extreme conditions.
Ball created this handsome timepiece to pay tribute to the esteemed explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton and the 100th anniversary of his Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Taking inspiration from the challenging temperatures faced by Shackleton’s team, the model features a unique function, which has engendered a highly unusual dial indication.
The piece carries a 42mm stainless steel case, with polished and brushed finishes. Beyond its trim bezel, an immaculate black dial provides a dramatic background for the baton hour markers and faceted hands, each of which has been endowed with the brand’s gas tubes to ensure premium readability in low light conditions. Located at the one o’clock, a quirky circular date window takes up position, while a vivid tip on the sweep seconds hand complies with the typography of the branding and the 12 o’clock marker.
