So excited to add this Tudor Monarch 15900 to my collection. It takes a spot along side my mini-sub.
This particular example displays the classic “panda” dials and a stainless steel bezel. The dimensions and aesthetics borrow heavily from the vintage Rolex Daytonas of the 60s. But, this Tudor has personality all it’s own. The date complication at 12 is quite unique. Fitted on an OEM Tudor strap and buckle.
The movement is a very interesting Piaget 1270 which was in service for this Tudor and a few Omegas of this era. It had a quartz movement for the time but mechanical gears for the chrono. This gives the very smooth sweep seconds and satisfying instant snap back of the chrono dial resets.
